Kids & Youth

Omokoroa is a growing community attracting many young families with kids of all ages. As a community church, we strive to offer the children and youth of our neighbourhood a ministry that complements the primary role of the parents and caregivers in nurturing their children in the Christian faith. Kids are a fundamental part of the life and ministry of Omokoroa Community Church and we are passionate about helping them grow in knowing, loving and serving God, by teaching the gospel in a safe and fun environment.

Kidzone is our Sunday School programme for school-aged children. It is run by a team of volunteers who are dedicated to teaching our children the love of Christ, the truth of the Bible, and the joy of Christian fellowship.

Kidzone meets in the church hall following a time of worship at the 10.00am service during school terms. The program includes fun games, morning tea, bible teaching and a craft/activity.

During school holidays and at Easter and on Christmas Day there is no supervised children’s program. Activity sheets are available for children at the rear of the church during school holidays.

Once a term (four times each year) the children will lead an all age service for the whole congregation.

On the first of Sunday of each month, the children are invited to join their families in celebrating the Communion service. Whether or not they receive communion is at the discretion of their caregivers.

CRECHE

A creche is available in the room adjoining the main auditorium for families with babies and pre-school children. A basic pre-school programme runs during term times and toys are available. If you wish to remain with your child or baby, an audio feed is available in the room allowing you to participate in the service.
